• Place: Wager on a dog to finish first or second.
• Each Way: Place two bets. One on your dog to finish first and one to place. If your dog wins the race, both your bets come in. If it places, only the bet to place pays out.

Forecast, Tricast and Other Greyhound Bets

At Grosvenor, you can also predict the order the dogs will finish in, with our forecast and tricast bets.

Forecast Betting

This is a bet on two dogs to finish first and second in a particular order.

Reverse Forecast Bet

This is a variation of a straight forecast. You pick two greyhounds to finish first or second, betting on them to finish in any order. However, since this involves an extra bet, your stake will be double that of a straight forecast.

Tricast Betting

With this type of bet, you can pick three dogs to finish first, second and third in the correct order.

Combination Tricast Betting

You make three selections of greyhounds to finish first, second and third, but they can do so in any order. With a combination tricast bet, you’re effectively making six bets.

Ante-post Greyhound Racing Betting

An ante-post bet is a bet that’s placed before the dogs are confirmed for a specific race. If you place an ante-post bet on the Greyhound Derby and your dog doesn’t run, you’ll lose your stake. But this is offset by the fact that the rewards are often greater.

Understanding Greyhound Racing Odds

Greyhound odds are simple to understand. At Grosvenor Sport, you’ll see all our odds written as fractional odds. They help you understand the implied probability of your dog winning and your potential payout on a successful wager.

Take the example of 3/1 odds. This means that your dog has an implied 25% chance of winning the race (a one in four chance). If you wagered £10 on a dog to win at 3/1, your bet would pay out 3x your stake. So £30 in this example. You also get your original £10 stake back for a total of £40.

At Grosvenor, as well as our race-day odds, you’ll also see ante-post greyhound racing odds for some of the top races. This is when you bet before the dogs are confirmed for the race. You’ll likely get better odds if you bet ante-post, but you run the risk of your dog not running.

For each dog, we also publish their form from the last six races, detailing their finishing position in their last six outings. Form can be an especially useful guide when deciding which dog to back.
